Query vs keyword#
You might target the keyword “wordpress speed”. Real queries matching it include “why is my wordpress site so slow”, “speed up wordpress without plugin” and “wordpress slow admin dashboard fix”. Search engines match pages to the meaning of each query, not just the words.
Types of queries#
| Type | Example |
|---|---|
| Informational | “what is a soft 404” |
| Navigational | “google search console login” |
| Commercial | “best hosting for wordpress india” |
| Transactional | “hire seo consultant mumbai” |
| Local | “web developer near me” |
| Conversational / voice | “how do I make my website show up on google maps” |
Finding your real queries#
- Open Search Console → Performance → Queries.
- Filter by page to see every query a page appears for.
- Look for queries with high impressions and low CTR or position 8–20 — opportunities to improve titles or add sections.
- Use regex filters to find question queries:
^(how|what|why|when|which|can|does)b.
