Rich Results

In short

Rich results are enhanced search listings that show extra information — star ratings, prices, availability, breadcrumbs, event dates, recipe times or video thumbnails — usually powered by structured data.

Eligibility isn’t a guarantee#

Valid markup makes a page eligible. Google decides whether to show rich results based on query, device and quality. Google has also reduced some types over time (FAQ and HowTo rich results were largely removed in 2023).

Checklist#

  • Mark up only visible, accurate content.
  • Test pages with the Rich Results Test before and after deploying.
  • Monitor Search Console → Enhancements for errors and warnings.
  • Compare CTR before and after rich results appear.
